The purpose of this project was to create a 26 page, mobile responsive mock e-commerce/catalog website with items of personal meaning and a mock form of currency. WordPress, Elementor, and the blank slate plugin were used to build the site without using a pre-made WordPress template.

Conceptualization & DESIGN DECISIONS
Taking colors commonly associated with sports franchises in the Midwest and reducing the saturation to more of a pastel palette provided an appropriate bridge between the high saturation colors used by those teams while still giving representation to the Midwest and appealing to the targeted demographic.
Midwesterners have commonly been known for their grit, determination, and willingness to get their hands dirty. Using a wooden background for the product photos offered a subtle ode to the culture that is commonly displayed.
The name Midwest Fan Caves is a play on words from man cave. Die-hard sports fans often have their “man cave” filled with sports memorabilia from their favorite teams, it provides a literal meaning for what is being sold on the site.
